How do I clean my Viking Grill Grates??

Porcelain Grates/Flavor Generator Plates/Grill
Burners

The porcelain grill grates are easily cleaned immediately after
cooking is complete and before turning off the flame. Wearing a
barbecue mitt to protect your hand from heat, use a soft bristle
barbecue brush to scrub the porcelain burner grid. Dip the brush
frequently in a bowl of water. Steam is created as the water
contacts the hot grate. The steam assists the cleaning process by
softening the food particles. For thorough cleaning of the grates
and plates, allow to cool, then soak 15 to 30 minutes in a hot
water and detergent solution. After soaking, scrub with a teflon
scouring pad. Do not use a steel wool pad, abrasive cleaners, or
metal brush. They could damage the porcelain finish.

The Case for Stainless Steel Grill Grates

We LOVE LOVE LOVE the new POWER Porcelain Grates from Viking, but the stainless steel grates are available too. We asked a Viking Part Pro who has both a Viking Grill and a smoker which grates HE has. The answer? Stainless Steel. He likes the stainless because they would rarely need to be replaced. He addressed that sticky issue of stickiness and says he brushes on olive oil or canola oil before grilling. He likes that he can clean without worrying about scouring any porcelain. All valid points to consider. My favorite is still the POWER Porcelain - much thicker coating AND great even heat with the cast iron underneath, not to mention the sear marks.

This Viking Range Ignitor Used on all Viking Glow Bar Ignition Systems. If you need to replace this Ignitor for the Bake function, we highly recommend replacing BOTH Bake Ignitors at the same time, never solo replace. It is also recommended in general to change BOTH Bake Ignitors every 3 - 5 years for BEST performance.

Suspect an Ignitor Issue When:
å Delayed Ignition or Constant Reignition Attempts
å Not Igniting
å Uneven Heat or Struggling to Make the Set Temperature

This ignitor is also used for the Broil function, as well as the Griddle function for Viking Ranges and Rangetops equipped with a Griddle.

Be very wary of imitation, knock-off, generics of this part. You will get what you pay for there.
